Siraj Pro (the "App") is built and operated by Syed Muhammad Aziz Ghaus ("we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Siraj Pro iOS application and this website.
1. Our approach in one sentence
Siraj Pro is designed to work without sending your personal data anywhere. Where the App needs information about you — your location, your prayer settings, your subscription status — that information stays on your device whenever possible, and is only shared with the small number of third parties listed below when strictly required to deliver a feature you asked for.
2. Information we collect
Location data
With your permission, Siraj Pro uses your device's location ("when in use") to calculate accurate prayer times for where you are. Your coordinates are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. You can revoke location permission at any time in Settings → Siraj Pro → Location; the App will then fall back to a city you choose manually.
App settings & history
Your preferences (calculation method, madhab, theme, notification settings, prayer check-in history, tasbih totals, streak data) are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard secure storage. They are included in your device's iCloud backup only if you have enabled iCloud backups; in that case, Apple — not us — is the data processor for that backup.
App Blocker data (Family Controls)
If you enable the Prayer-time App Blocker, your selection of apps or categories is handled entirely by Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework. Siraj Pro never sees which apps you choose — iOS exposes opaque tokens that work only on your device.
Subscription status
Siraj Pro offers in-app subscriptions. When you start a free trial or purchase a subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive an anonymous receipt from Apple that confirms whether your subscription is active — we do not see your name, email address, card details, or Apple ID.
Diagnostics
If you opt in to Apple's "Share with App Developers" setting on your device, Apple may send us anonymised crash logs and performance data. These contain no personal information. We use them only to fix bugs.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not maintain user accounts and do not ask you to sign in.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or contacts.
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your precise GPS coordinates to our servers.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, profiling SDKs, or cross-app trackers.
- We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with data brokers.
4. How we use information
The limited information that does reach us is used solely to:
- Verify your subscription status so premium features unlock correctly.
- Fix crashes and improve reliability (via Apple's anonymised diagnostics).
- Respond to you when you email our support address.
5. Third parties
The App relies on the following third parties, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Apple Inc. — App Store distribution, in-app purchases, push notifications, iCloud sync (if you enable it), MapKit for the Qibla compass, and the Family Controls framework that powers the App Blocker.
We do not embed any analytics, advertising, attribution, or social-media SDKs.
6. Notifications
Siraj Pro can send local notifications for prayer reminders. These are scheduled on your device by iOS based on your settings; we don't operate a notification server and never see when a reminder fires.
7. Live Activity
Siraj Pro pushes Live Activity updates (the countdown on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island) directly from your device using Apple's ActivityKit. No content of those activities is sent to any server we operate.
8. Children's privacy
Siraj Pro is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Because we hold essentially no personal data about you, there is little to access, correct, or delete on our side. You retain full control of the data on your device — you can clear all Siraj Pro data at any time by uninstalling the App. If you have any rights request (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), email us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
10. Data retention
Email correspondence is retained for up to 24 months in case of follow-up. Anonymised crash diagnostics provided by Apple are retained for up to 12 months. App data on your device is retained for as long as you keep Siraj Pro installed.
11. Security
Data stored locally is protected by iOS data protection. Data transmitted to Apple for subscriptions or backups is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. We follow reasonable engineering practices to keep your data safe, but no transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App. Continued use of Siraj Pro after a change means you accept the revised policy.
